Million Artists is a new project, aimed at raising funds for medical charities, while creating the world’s largest piece of collaborative abstract art. Each donor selects a pixel of color to become part of a huge abstract ’painting’. You don’t even have to be an artist to take part and donations are made easy by PayPal or credit card.

The Carnival of Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, attracts 2 million people, including 800,000 tourists, every year. 800,000 people attended a free open-air concert given by the New York Philharmonic in Central Park, New York City, USA, on July 5, 1986. At the 1994 Camel Wrestling Festival in Selcuk, Turkey, 20,000 people gathered to watch 120 dromedaries wrestle. On February 19, 2000, a 10,000-ft long Chinese dancing dragon was brought to life by 3,200 people at the Great Wall of China near Beijing. The 1999 ESPN Summer X Games, held in San Francisco, California, USA, enjoyed a record attendance of 268,390 people over its 10-day duration.

NO? Don’t worry, you still have your chance.

We are gathering 1,000,000 artists from all over the world to break the “Most Painters of One Picture” Guinness record.
Every artist will place a colored dot on a web page and together we create a picture!

Why “Million Artists”?

Actually 25,298 would be enough to break the record set by Jim Campbell who designed a picture painted by 25,297 people in 1998. However we believe it isn’t fair to compare the real-life versus the technology based records... And having one million donors significantly benefits our affiliated charities.
